Did you know I also teach children?

🇳🇱 Learning Dutch can be fun!
🇳🇱 Learning Dutch can be fun!

For more than 25 years, children and education have been an important part of my life. I have taught in primary schools in Amsterdam, worked in daycare, founded summer schools, volunteered with children in Cambodia, and taught Dutch in secondary education.

Since 2012, I have also been working independently as a Dutch language teacher for expats. Through all these experiences, I have discovered how much I enjoy working with children one-to-one.

Every child is different. Some children need a little extra explanation, others need more confidence, encouragement, or simply someone who takes the time to really listen to them. I love getting to know a child, discovering what works for them, and seeing that wonderful moment when something finally clicks.

That is what Superles is all about: helping children feel more confident, enjoy learning, and make progress in a way that suits them.

I started my first tutoring company in Amsterdam in 2004. After moving to Haarlem in 2017, I continued tutoring children and adults. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I moved many of my lessons online and focused increasingly on Dutch for expats.

Now I am very happy to be offering face-to-face tutoring for children in Haarlem and the surrounding area again.

How does Superles work?

I believe that good tutoring starts with getting to know the child.

That is why I offer a free intake and trial lesson in Santpoort-Noord. We talk about what your child finds difficult, what they enjoy, what they would like to improve, and what they want to achieve.

Based on this, I create a tailor-made course specifically for your child. The lessons are personal, practical, and adapted to their pace and learning style.

The goal is not only better results at school. I also want children to feel more confident in themselves and in their ability to learn.

After around ten lessons, parents and children often start to notice a difference — in confidence, skills, and results.

How can I help your child?

I offer individual tutoring for children aged 4–14, including:

  • Dutch as a second language (NT2) for expat children;

  • Remedial teaching and pre-teaching;

  • Support with primary school tests;

  • Homework support;

  • English lessons for Dutch children;

  • Dutch language lessons for children aged 4–14;

  • Tailor-made private lessons based on your child's individual needs.

Whether your child needs extra help with Dutch, struggles with a particular subject, is preparing for a test, or simply needs a little more confidence, I am happy to see how I can help.

Would you like to meet?

Perhaps you are wondering whether Superles would be a good fit for your child. The best way to find out is simply to meet.

You are very welcome to come for a free intake and trial lesson in Santpoort-Noord. There is no obligation — just an opportunity to meet, talk, and see how your child responds to the lessons.

I look forward to meeting you and your child!
